ERROR: Unsupported CPU installed.

So i have this computer http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-500-100-Desktop-PC-series/5395585/model/5399353/document/c03968985/
and i bought a I7-3770k
when i replaced it and loaded up my pc it was black screen that had the processor info and under it ERROR: Unsupported CPU installed
PC will automatically power down in a few seconds
Please help

So i should get a new motherboard, what motherboard can i get for my computer so i can use the I7-3770k

i would say that the hp motherboard does not support the unlocked skus and has proprietary software.A bios update may help but it is unlikely.Best thing would be to get a cheap 2nd hand motherboard to oc that

Yeah Apple is correct. If you had read the link which you supplied for CPU upgrade paths you would have noticed there are no K series CPUs supported by that motherboard.
